It's Final!

We have finally finalized Bens adoption. We went to the courthouse on Sept 25th with family and friends. The judge was so nice and told Emma she could walk all over his courtroom and that he had no rules! That was such a nice thing to hear when you have a 3 year old in tow. He even offered her to wear his robe but she declined. The very next day we headed to the Redlands temple to be sealed to him for all Eternity. What a blessing he has been on our life. That same weekend he was blessed by his daddy. We had a great time visiting with friends and family. Thanks to all those who came and helped us on this journey.

We have a new addition!

WOW It's been a long time since I have posted, A lot has happened. Emma has a new brother. Ben was born Dec12, 2008 and we brought him home the next day. He is such a sweet boy! It was a crazy weekend that weekend we brought him home. Our first phone call about him was on Friday morning and by that evening we were headed to meet him. We feel very blessed to have 2 beautiful healthy children

Keith had to work Saturday so Emma and I went to the mall. She had her first pedicure and sat still for it. I think she really like being pampered :) After that we had lunch together and went window shopping. We had a great time

Daddy daughter dates

I have been at a meeting it seems like every night the last few weeks. So, Emma and daddy have been hanging out quite a bit. He is so sweet with her and loves to teach her. He is very patient and takes the time to do little things that sometimes I get too "busy" to do. They have done dinner at McDonald's, gone to the park and their favorite, "Home Depot" I really feel like I am missing out! Things should slow down here soon and I am looking forward to that.

Vacation

We had a vacation the week before last and had a great time. On Monday we went to the beach and had a nice time. Emma had fun playing in the sand but wasn't too interested in the water this time around. She loved it last year but didn't care for the sound of the waves crashing in. On Wed we went down to San Diego with my parents and my sister. We had a GREAT time! It was so fun to see Emma have a good time with her aunt and grandparents. Those are some great memories! Papa and Aunt Claudette rode rides with her and had a good time. Grandma was a real trooper and stayed to almost closing with us. I don't know who was more tired, Emma or grandma? We stayed at a gorgeous hotel on the bay and grandma and Emma got to snuggle all night. They both sure were sawing logs all night. The rest of the week we stayed close to home doing things around town. We took Emma for breakfast at the airport to watch the planes come in. On Saturday we took a bike ride through Fairmount Park and along the river for a short ways. We had a great time all week and enjoyed being together as a family! I love to do things with Emma, I love to watch her face as she sees something for the first time. I have been asked why we do the things we do with her and take her to places we do when she won't remember any of it..............It's because at that moment she knows that she is loved and is having a good time and along the way mommy is making memories! They grow WAY too fast!

OK, I know it has been way too long since my last posting.............I warned you remember? I am bad at this. OK the state came out to inspect/license our home a few months ago. We had EVERYTHING locked up. Our toothpaste, deodorant and anything else we needed on a daily basis was under lock and key. VERY inconvenient. We had to put up a whole new fence! We weren't prepared for that at all. Thanks to our good neighbors and a willing husband we have a new fence that passed the 2nd inspection. Thanks to my mom and dad too! They helped a lot! :) We then had our interviews with the county and that went really well. I think they found us capable to love a child. So, we are now in the waiting process again. We know that the right child will come to our home. Emma is not the blond haired blue eyed boy that I imagined us having but she fits so well into our family and I cannot imagine her not being here with us. So, we know that it will work out again.

OK, So I get all these great invites to check out friends blogs so I thought I would give it a shot. I can't promise that I will keep it current but for now I will try. This is such a great way to keep in touch with friends and family. Welcome to our blog. We hope you will enjoy the pictures and updates. We are a family of three and hope to have an addition here really soon. We will soon be jumping through the last hoop for the county in hopes to adopt again soon. Emma is not sure if she wants a brother or sister but either way she insists that his/her name is Derek. We are not sure if a sister would appreciate that but it is up for discussion. We will keep you updated on our progress.
